Anthropic AI Files For Initial Public Offering
GRAND RAPIDS, MI. - Anthropic, PBC filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 26, 2026, for its proposed initial public offering of Class A common stock. The company intends to list its shares on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol "ANT". Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley lead the IPO. Anthropic previously confidentially filed for an IPO with the SEC in June 2026.
The artificial intelligence company reported significant financial activity in the first half of 2026. Revenue reached $16.3 billion, a substantial increase from $1.2 billion in the same period of 2025. However, the company posted a net loss of $80.7 billion for the first half of 2026, a rise from a net loss of nearly $13 billion in the first two quarters of 2025. Anthropic's spending on cloud services and infrastructure also grew, with nearly $9 billion spent in the first half of 2026, up from $2.3 billion a year prior. The company committed to spending $518 billion over ten years on these services.
The IPO could potentially value Anthropic between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion, with the offering possibly raising up to $100 billion. This follows a May 2026 funding round where Anthropic raised $65 billion and achieved a valuation of $965 billion. Anthropic serves over 14,000 enterprise customers, including approximately 250 clients each contributing $10 million or more in annual revenue. Revenue per employee increased from $1.4 million in September 2025 to over $6.6 million in September 2026. Anthropic commits at least 5% of its shares to a new public benefit fund upon going public. Trading is anticipated to begin as early as November 16.
