Polymarket Hacked!

GRAND RAPIDS, MI. - Polymarket suspended international trading on Thursday, October 29, 2026, after a cyberattack drained approximately $2.65 million from nearly 1,000 user accounts. The prediction market halted operations for an hour to contain the breach, and company representatives promised that affected users will be made whole following the security incident.

Arkham data revealed that a wallet address belonging to a suspected attacker holds about $2.65 million in POL after executing multiple recent USDC.e-to-POL swaps through Relay. One trader lost $800,000 in the breach. The exchange referred the matter to United Kingdom authorities for investigation.

The exploit originated not on the main Polymarket site, but at a third-party service provider in the United Kingdom when hackers compromised a DebugBear script. The vendor confirmed the breach after malicious code drained funds from user accounts across the platform.

Polymarket restored trading operations later on Thursday after securing the platform against further vulnerabilities. The exchange continues working with authorities and third-party vendors to investigate the security breach and process refunds for impacted traders.
